SOPHIA TWEED AHMAD
sophia is an experimental choreographer, performer & vocalist exploring the intersections of identity, ancestry and the body as a living constellation. A queer child of Pakistani and Norwegian diasporas, her art is informed by the confluence of her cultural and spiritual heritage. Her score-based choreography brews improvisation and raw reverberations in the body through prayer & vocal dynamics. Her choreography has been presented by Ten Tiny Dances, Performance Works NW,
Stripart Festival & Choreoscope Dance Film Festival.
Her movement training stems from lineages of contact improvisation, release technique, capoeira, axis syllabus, presence & flying-low. She received her postgrad in contemporary dance & creation at Area Dansa (2022-2023) in Barcelona, ES.
She holds a B.A. in International Studies & Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, 2018.

Maddie Kruse, 2019She currently lives in Barcelona, ES training in Técnica Presence by Olga Alvarez, attending contact improvisation jams, teaching Soft Acrobatics at Movimiento Factory as a resident & is a resident at the Ateneu de Fabricacio Digital de Gràcia prototyping costume & dancewear.
